Cornhole Bag Shaver

Use this Bag Shaver to clean up your cornhole bags by removing the fabric pills, fuzz, lint and debris that accumulates over time and affects the speed and tactile feel of your bags. After a few seconds with this bag shaver, your bags will feel like like the once did nice and smooth and ready to win! Uses 2x AA batteries (not included)

Why use a bag shaver?

1. FOR NORMAL SLOW SIDE FABRIC: Fabric pills (those little fuzz balls that form usually on the slow side of your bag) cause your bag to speed up. They act like little cushions lifting your bag and preventing the natural friction of the fabric from fully coming in contact with the board. Once you remove these fabric pills, the fabric is restored to its original state allowing the entire surface area to touch the board and returning the bag to its original speed
2. FOR CARPET BAG FABRIC: On carpet bags, generally instead of pills, a rough fuzz forms. This fuzz acts the opposite way of regular fabric, and ends up slowing down the bag. This is because this fuzz creates more friction as it has rougher edges, but isn't rolled into balls like fabric pills. All of the surface area of the carpet is still able to contact the board, but now there is added friction from the fuzz slowing down the bag. After shaving a carpet bag, you should see the bag speed up to it's original speed.
3. FOR BAGS WITH DEBRIS: Sometimes when you've used your bags outdoors a lot, they will collect bits of dried grass, splinters, and other organic matter that gets caught up in the fabric. It can be very tricky to remove this with your hands or even by washing. Our fabric shaver will clean up most of this and will allow you easier access to anything not picked up by the shaver. We have seen the most gnarly looking bags that someone was about to throw away, returned to a beautiful smooth finish once again using the bag shaver.

How to use the Bag Shaver:
NOTE: In most cases you will only need to shave the slow side of your bag, but it is fine to use on the fast side as well.

1. Turn on your fabric shaver and glide the shaver over the bag left to right and back again. You should only need to go over an area once in both directions.
2. Continue until you have gone left and right over all the fabric
3. Now do the same thing but up and down across the fabric. Again you only need to make contact with each part of the bag up and down once.
4. Now slide one side of the bag off the edge of the table and glide the shaver over the edge of the bag (where both fabrics meet along the sewing line). This will take care of the remaining pills or fuzz on the edge of the bag. Do this on all 4 sides.
5. To empty the Bag Shaver, slide down the clear plastic fuzz catcher and dump it. You can also periodically clean the blades with the included cleaning brush by turning the blade cover counter clockwise. Carefully brush away debris and close the cover.

Things to Keep in Mind:

1. When you shave a bag, you are removing some of the fabric. This is required in order to restore your bag playability, but keep in mind this may impact the ink/artwork on the bag slightly. This is part of the normal wear and tear on bags and it won't significantly affect the art, but it does provide a little bit of degradation. This also happens with normal wear and tear as you throw your bags, so it isn't something to worry about.
2. This is a fabric shaver with a spinning blade. If you use this on a bag with a snagged thread hanging out, it can catch that thread and pull it out worse. It is best to repair those snags (we even have a repair tool for that!) before shaving the bag.
3. As with anything of this nature, we can't guarantee perfect success and we can't guarantee you won't damage your bag when using this shaver. It is a pretty easy tool to use, but use this at your own risk as we will not replace bags that are damaged when using this shaver
