* FAQ's About Boards
Why Baltic Birch Wood?
This is the gold standard in cornhole boards. Our boards are made from authentic Baltic Birch which provides the best qualities of strength, clean surfaces (knot free) and not overly heavy. This is what professional tournaments use for good reason.
What is UV Printing and UV Clear Coat?
Our boards are printed on directly using high-end UV printers which use an ultra violet printing process that instantly dries ink and allows for high resolution with vibrant colors. Similarly, after bring printed, boards are top coated with a protective UV Clear Coat that also cures instantly. The Clear Coating process is done on a machine that gives a perfectly even coat. Doing it this way eliminates human error insuring a perfectly smooth and durable finish on every board. This is the most professional way of printing and top coating boards in the sport today and it's how all National Leagues make their boards.
What are Double Wide Legs?
This is basically what it sounds like. Typically board legs are made from a single piece of 18mm thick wood. Double wide legs instead use two pieces of 18mm wood together for each leg. This makes boards more stable and less prone to movement. See the image in our product photos above to view the difference for yourself.
What is the "Airmail Blocker"?
This is part of the leg brace between the two legs. On most boards you've seen, this is just a rectangular piece of wood that provides extra stability by keeping the two legs connected together. The "Airmail Blocker" brace adds a large circle in the middle of the brace. This helps prevent airmails from flying out the backside of the board causing arguments over whether a bag was thrown into the hole or not. The Airmail Blocker comes standard on "Pro-Lite" and "Pro-Elite" boards. We are also currently offering it as a free automatic upgrade on "Tournament" boards as well. See the image in our product photos above to see what the "Airmail Blocker" looks like.
What's the benefit of more frame supports?
Frame supports not only stabilize the board frame (ensuring a flat surface) but they also stabilize the playing surface (allowing for a more stable surface). The more supports under the playing surface the stronger the surface will be, providing less vibration and movement of the top of the board. Translation: The more frame supports, the less trampoline effect so bags won't bounce on the board or over the hole. As an added benefit, more frame supports also makes the board quieter because there is less slap sound when the board surface is less able to vibrate. View the comparison image above to see the difference in supports in each of our board grades.
Why are the "Pro-Elite" boards so quiet?
The Pro-Elite boards not only have our 3/4 Inch playing surface with both vertical and horizontal frame supports, but they also have an extra layer of 3/4 inch baltic birch underneath the playing surface in each section between the frame supports. This effectively means the thickness of these boards is double what it is on other boards. That provides much more sound insolation creating the quietest playing boards you will ever experience. You have to see it to believe how much quieter these boards are compared to others. These are great inside rooms where you don't want to deal with the deafening sound of typical boards or when you don't want to anger neighbors playing outside. Plus, because this extra layer makes the boards more heavy, your boards won't move around when you're playing like they do with lighter boards.
